Good thread. This is what i think:
If I bid on something it means nobody else from here should be bidding on it as I saw it first. That's just good manners. I like a bargain too so setting a minimum price isn;t gonna work cos some flash bastard will always be happy to outbid that price.
Anyone who outbids me on anything when they are aware I have already bid can go fuck themselves.
Furthermore, i think we need to ban the posting of ebay links. I admit I've done it myself in the past (although only in the specialists forum) but from now on I think it needs to stop as all it does it heat up an aution that someone may well have been nurturing themselves for a while.
Essentially, if someone form SSDB has bid on something then stay the fuck away.

Couldn't have put it better myself.
And ditto to you Shelltoes.
No more of that bidding against each other shit.
I do think there is room for open bidding on the very rare items though.
If it's a once in a lifetime chance for something then it should be open season.

mr.pure
it all makes sense
also it might be the only way for some people to ever get a collection together
different people having varying amounts they can spend
i wouldn't even want to take a pair of SS away from someone
not if they were really wanting them and i just fancied another pair
maybe we can start putting low early bids in as a kind show of intent
we can always mail bidders via ebay to check if you think you recognise the name
on that note
are you keeping those missy E's that you won from under me on ebay last week

i guess i should have used a 'sniperschool' account name
i can't complain if you didn't know who i was

Shit, sorry dude.
I guess the good years have ended with me, Spite and Shelltoes contending with each other for bits and bobs.
This town ain't big enough for all of us.

it sucked
i was using a mobile to dial up through a macbook on a train
signal kept dropping out
still
i got a projekts NYC cap off of him for 99p
that made the night less of a drag
odd that the upper playgrounds he had went for less than the missy's
