I always read that sneakers should be stored in dry and dark places. In my new supe room the window is open during the night, almost every day. Even in the winter. Is that a problem for my supes that are stored on my shelves? During the day, the window is closed. The curtain is always closed so no light problem.
What is the damage moist in the air can do? I know that sunlight can discolor shoes.

cant help but wonder, why you leave your window open all night every night. but shut it during the day?

It's for my 150 cannabis-plants, the room needs ventilation
But seriously, the room holds our wash-dryer which is almost on every night. Will be more when we get our second kid
The window is open so the hose can be put through the window. Yes, the new supe-room has it's down-sides
If I close the window the room wil be even more humid.

cant you drill a hole in the wall for a propa vent for the dryer? thats gotta be a security risk more than a humidity/cold sneaks risk

Not an option Pukka. But I still don't know what damage the humid air can do...

Isn't geebs the expert on humidity control?

I dunno, I hope he'll post in this tread then. I hope it's not a problem. I totally didn't think of it when I decided to switch rooms
Drilling a hole in the wall is not an option because my house is for sale and I would need to drill a 15 cm hole through a 12 cm concrete wall and a 10 cm brick wall. My house will probably not sell anytime soon but I think future buyers don't like the hole I created
I'll store my most precious pairs in their boxes inside a closet but 45 pairs will be put on the Ikea shelves.

don't really know much about it... but wouldn't a small packet of silica gel in each shoe sort out any moisture?
little ones

Those Ikea build-yourself shelves are fucking epic. What I have half my collection on. They are the perfect size for adidas boxes. I would have more if I had the room.

Wait till you see 3 rows of shelves as adidas stripes crossing an adidas blue wall with a white trefoil. That's epic

It's not me who's a humidity expert I'm afraid . . . haven't got a clue . . . you might be thinking of EZ-1 and his cigar storage setup ?

I think I'll be allright. It's not like rain is coming in or something. It's only a few hours a day. Unless you guys tell me otherwise
