My first pair came about as soon as Footlocker over here started stocking them!
My love of soops/adidas stems back to when I was in primary school and I had a pair of
white with blue stripe Adidas Rome (which were actually made in Australia as I later
found out when someone was selling a pair in my size for $200 AUD on ebay- should've got 'em!)
they were my first pair of good sneaks and probably the coolest shoes at the time over here
because there wasn't much else to choose from, Dunlop Volleys or Puma Pavement Joggers anyone?
Then when I got into hip hop I used to draw shells on all my graff characters even though you couldn't get them
over here because I saw them on rappers, b-boys and in graffiti and I always wished some store would stock them.
So as much as Footlocker sucks they filled the void for me but real flavour came when I discovered the internet and what was available in other countries!

Hmmm, I think when I discovered the internet, it was not for shoes, but something very much more NSFW...

Yeah i picked up my first pair around then, 88 or 89, cant remember exactly which year, i just know i was 18 at the time. Standard white & black stripes. Fell in love with em cos of hip-hop. Run DMC mostly. I wore those poor bastards to death.
Didn't pick up another pair til i copped some all black Pro Models and another pair of B&W's in 94. Took more care of em this time round, bought a few more over the years and after a while i noticed it was starting to become 'my thing', the makings of a small collection. Still got the pro mods.
