yeah Olstar is right , there is no right or wrong way i guess its just luck of the draw and having the money to back the bid you want to win.
I think Mr P was just maybe trying to set some sort of ground Rules if everyone else agreed with them but i think it is gonna be hard and totally unforceable?
I guess we will just carry on in the same way then! Nothings simple anymore!

Other forums do it and it is really frowned upon if you bid against a fellow member.

How do you know who saw it first though? would never work

That's what I is trying to discuss in here.
I figured if people were interested, they maybe put in a marker bid to indicate their intentions, seeing as most of us bid at the last minute.

Every man/wench for themselves IMO, if you get outbid by someone its tough titty. Just dont draw attention to something you want.

RE: Bidding etiquette. - Sooper - 05-05-07

Thats what ive been doing recently just keeping quiet about what i find - its sad but it means i might stand more chance of winning that bid.

Always done that.
why tell everyone, you just end up hotting up an auction you want to win.
It's the same thing with people asking where you buy you trainers.
You tell a bunch of people and then next time something comes out, bang, you end up missing out cos you shared the knowledge.
Fuck it.
I guess it's war then.

I'm sure we all head into an auction with a limit on what you're willing to bid, I know I do. If someone on here wants them more badly than me so be it, I'll just bide my time and wait for the next pair to come along.

I agree fella, you cant give away all of the secrets otherwise there wont be nothing left after the feeding frenzy!
Theres nothing to stop people using the PM system to tell an individual about something that they want to keep low profile?

Just seems daft for items that will turn up again to be bidding against each other.
Rare items maybe, but general release things, it's pointless.
