This is the equivalent in Finland. Might be the same for Sweden as well.

I treat, condition and protect my shoes with road salt, vo5 hair gel, WD40 and the inside of a banana every day before I leave the house.

You fuckers are soooo ungrateful!
GB the road salt wasn't a treatment it was the dirt... ahem.. do pay attention.

Ah, that's where you're mistaken . . . try mixing one part road salt with two parts rubbing alcohol and cream of tartar . . . shake it gently (DO NOT STIR!) for 45 seconds and immerse your shell toes in the frothy brew.
Guaranteed to Bring the Clean

Yello,
Is JM and the brush OK to clean the shells and midsole? doesn't appear to be coming clean, do I just need more elbow grease?
Ta!

More elbow grease or more Magic Eraser
.
But if you are tying to get your 80's supes spotless then I can only wish you good luck. I still haven't figured out how to get those shells/midsoles clean.
EDIT
Try to rub clockwise and anti-clockwise and you have to apply JM enough that it really foams.

I just use Dawn liquid dish soap and a toothbrush on the outsole/shell. It's the same stuff they use to clean the animals up after an oil spill.
I clean as I wear 'em so the dirt never gets built up. Just takes 5 minutes or so at the end of the day.

Cheers chaps, a bit more elbow grease and all is spiffing.
