If I had the money it wouldn't be a problem but i brought a house just before christmas and basically it had to be totally gutted, heating, electrics, kitchen, door frames and floors has had to go and seeing as I'm a self funded PhD student with no time for a job I'm reliant on my other half who is also a PhD student and his funding ran out a few months ago, so basically it comes down to wether I can justify spending £150 on a pair of what my boyfriend will see as just a worn out pair of trainers

£150.............Nah i wouldn't either for that price..The sellers got no chance at that price and condition!!!well possibly if they were a uk9,10

Lorrie - 10-03-10
Oh, bad luck. I would say they're still worth it, but obviously stuff like food and heat is important as well. Though the weather is improving and you could probably trap some small animals for food.

Pokey, you wouldn't pay £150 for them because the soles are a bit messed?
RE: Things that make your blood boil -
pokey27 - 10-03-10
Afraid not lorrie considering carly's a uk6 thats half a shoe really innit
I get what ya saying about the soles been easily cleanable but they look like they've had alot of wear out of them i wouldn't even be tempted at that price
If there worth £150 in that condition then that makes my unworn pair worth about £500 right

Maybe it's me but if that puts you off, you're crazy. If the upper is OK, fuck it, buy them. Who's gonna see the soles?
So now you've got 3 votes for buying them, now go get them!
EDIT: didn't see there were more replies and the price is GBP 150. Mmmmm, that seems like a lot of money for a worn down pair of trainers
RE: Things that make your blood boil -
Lorrie - 10-03-10
£500 - isn't that what they wanted on CT for them?
TBH, I paid CDN500 for mine deadstock and while I certainly didn't think I got a deal, I also didn't think I paid too much. Plus I got them retail so there was no doubt to their provenance and I got to try them on first.
RE: Things that make your blood boil -
pokey27 - 10-03-10
Only on ssdb could you be classed as crazy for not blowing £150 on a worn pair of trainers
£500
no way..I think it depends on size i doubt i'd get even close to that for any uk7 35th consortiums
My own little pisser today is getting a pair of puma clydes that were listed as brand new but have clearly been worn..Not alot but still worn why lie ffs

Corey Haim - RIP.
Not so much blood boil as a total shame.

Old Gregg - 10-03-10
The upper is fine, apart from the backs of the soles they are great condition, its not really about seeing them ist more about how much life is left in them, theres no point spending that amount of money and not really being able to wear them
as much as I want them as and the fact its the first time in nearly a year of looking that i've found any of the consortiums in my size I think common sense and the fact i need doors and floors that don't smell of dog piss more is going to win, but your opinions are welcome as i'm still not 100%
I've had that pokey, bit annoying, some BA city series was listed as new and they had mud on the soles
or only worn a few times when they're falling apart
the best description I've seen is - only worn several times, brilliant!
RE: Things that make your blood boil -
pokey27 - 10-03-10
i actually do that but im my case its actually true..and by "worn afew times" i generally mean i put them on my feet for probably 2hrs about 3times
pity others ain't as honest..
I've emailed the seller see what they come back with.

Our weather is better than yours and I still only rock the FPs 3 or 4 times a year.
Evidently Corey Haim was from around these parts. I wouldn't have guessed him as Canadian.

Don't worry about the sole if the upper is ok. You are probably going to live in that house for several years so one more month with that old floor is not a big deal

GeeBee - 10-03-10
Buy them. I paid a little bit more than Lorrie for mine deadstock and don't regret it for a minute... and I am by no means minted. They are a beautiful thing and your only regret would be not picking them up if you don't buy them.
Corey Haim eh, RIP, sad business. . . might have to dig out the Lost Boys video . . . and the vcr.

it took sportieLA almost a full month to go from accepting my order to "your order has been shipped", ordered 14/2 shipped 12/3...why the hell does it take them that long to process an order?

That's hopeless. Just confirms I'll never buy anything off them.
