This is a fuckin retarded thread....
I'm American... I only wear Mavi & True Relgion jeans
I think turn ups look like they are for kids whose parents wanted to buy them jeans they could "grow into". No one in the US rocks turn ups... If it's a UK/euro thing, it's all good. I could care less. If I recall, I even started a thread a while back to understand who rocks them and why. It's all good.
Take a walk down to Huntington Beach the next time you're in LA and you'll see how we normally wear jeans.
btw, the reason our jeans can get a bit tattered on the bottom? It happens when you wear flip flops 99% of the time. I have over 70 pairs of soups, yet I still wear my 3 pairs of flip flops WAY more than Superstars.

I don't wear turn ups either.
People are only wearing them at the moment cos it's a fashion thing, they won't be doing that in 3 years time, I'm fuckin' sure.
P.s. You're well out of order with the weather thing !
We get it. It doesn't rain in LA.
Whatever !

Be easy KOTF, just pullin ya chain a little bit! I actually like jeans that are tattered at the bottom, most of mine are as I wear them low. I have an ancient battered pair that are covered in spraypaint, loadsa holes, raggedy at the bottom etc and I love wearing them with a fresh new pair of Supes, I love the contrast between the scruffy jeans and ultra clean kicks.
But that's not my point. I'm not against sruffy but nice jeans, I'm more..err..intrigued by the whole "Marlboro Man" kinda style that seems so popular over there, it looks like everbody's still weaing Wranglers to me. Yeehah!

I wear express jeans coz they don't look bad and they are in my price range ($65-95). I'm a broke ass college student that has just enuff dough to cover my supe addiction so spending a ton of cash on jeans isn't an option. I don't own any stone washed jeans though, all mine are dark tints and some have a blasted look to em. The problem with designer denim over here (or at least my part of the country) is that only metros or nancy boys are the one who really rock em. Im not knocking anybody on your side that rock designers, my motto is different stroke for different folks, but that's just the stigma they have over here. I despise Wranglers and those who wear em tho!

I usually tend to wear Levi cuz I refuse to pay $80 or more for one pair of jeans. I'd rather spend my money on shelltoes

I don't really wear very dark colored jeans due to the fact that the dye rubs off on my shoes

As far as Wranglers, the only people who wear those tight nut-hugging jeans are wanna-be cowboys and fruity guys. It's just intersting to me how different fashion tends to be in different countries.

Ok, let me state very clearly that this is in no way personal and is just a general observation. It’s also just a bit of tongue-in-cheek fun as I’m bored at work so please don’t take it seriously or be offended but…
Whenever I’m looking through the “Today I’ll mostly be wearing†threads it never ceases to amaze me just how bad some of the jeans that our American members are willing to sport. Don’t take this the wrong way guys but your taste in jeans is mostly in the category that I call “Dad Denim†You know the type, all really heavily stonewashed to hell and back, nasty skinny threads on the seems and just long enough to reach the shoe with no gathering or turn up at the bottom, the kinda shit that only ya Dad would rock over here in the UK. I mean you all have faultless taste in footwear, choose a great looking shoe, spend ages considering the right laceflip for it, maybe add a jewel, always keep ‘em boxfresh and tidy but then go and mash it up by teaming them with some wack lookin cheap-ass denim selection! Wha' gwaan?
I’m sure they’re not and that it’s just a cultural thing, you guys like a different style to us, same as a lot of you don’t rock turn ups either. But it did make me wonder, do you guys look at us and think “Man, those Brits with their funny…†So, and this is open to everybody wherever you are, are there any other funny cultural differences between countries that you’ve noticed? Does anyone have any habits you find a bit odd? Let’s keep it friendly and general though eh, no personal attacks!
Careful not to stereotype too much
Honestly I don't see what you're referring to in the soop picture thread. I wear Lucky Brand Jeans, which is a designer brand made in California. Usually run around $100 - $200 a pair. Haven't had denim bleed at all with them either.
I don't like my jeans too baggy, like Farmer is saying, good style here is generally considered to be wearing clothes that fit.
Shouldn't we be payin' more attention to the soops though anyway?
btw just saw your Wrangler reference. I think that you are wayyyyyyy off here...very few people wear these. I would run around in spandex before I wore a pair of Wranglers...lol

If i'm not wearing an adidas top or tracksuit then it's probably Ecko Unltd.
Tees, jeans, shorts or hoodies it's all good to me.
I know this thread is just a bit of fun but in all honesty I don't care
what other people wear or if they like what I wear. Doowutchyalike!

C'mon guys, this was only supposed to be a bit of fun, no one's supposed to takin it to heart. I was hoping we could've got a bit of friendly banter going between the countries. Y'know, we poke fun at your denim, you laugh at our bad teeth, that kinda thing. The Aussies usually love any opportunity to have a dig at us Poms. And as for the Canadians...
Oh well, I guess not.
