Yeah although I worked 30-40 hours a week while at uni, I wouldnt advise it as it totally fucks you up. So tiring going from uni straight to work having one day off a week + no weekend. Gotta be total hardcore to do that shit!
20 or so would probably have a been a better amount

I've constantly had a job since I was 15 (I'm 26 now), worked through highers at school then 30 odd hours of uni classes (not including extra study etc) plus 30 hours a week as a till monkey at WH Smith. You want money? Work. Them's the choices. Jesus, I sound like my Dad.
Although, if your studying so hard etc it might be better not having money as it might just distract you, going out instead of revising etc. And if you're at such a good school, sometimes that seems to matter just as much to uni's etc when it comes to applying for places. I've seen folk at uni who where a bawhair away from being certifiably retarded, yet got in just as easy as the clever folk. Why? Cos they went to a school that looked like a fucking castle.
I'm rambling now...

Dear Phikz,
Let me start by introducing myself. I am Mr.Wolf Chief Executive Officer of the SSDB Bank Ltd.
Before the U.S and Iraqi war, our client a business man made a numbered fixed deposit of (167,211,702.56 HKD) for 18 calendar months, this is valued to Twenty One million Five Hundred Thousand United State Dollars only in my branch. Upon maturity several notice was sent to him, even during the war, five years ago (2003). Again after the war another notification was sent
and still no response came from him. We later found out that he and his family had been killed during the war in bomb blast that hit their home at Mukaradeeb where his personal oil well was.

After further investigation it was also discovered that he did not declare any next of kin in his official papers including the paper work of his bank deposit. And he also confided in me the last time he was at my office that no one except me knew of his deposit in my bank. So,Twenty One million Five Hundred Thousand United State Dollars is still lying in my bank and no one will ever come forward to claim it. What bothers me most is that according to the laws of my country at the
expiration of seven years six months the funds will revert to the ownership of the Hong Kong Government if nobody applies to claim the funds.
Against this backdrop, my suggestion to you is that I will like you as a foreigner to stand as the next of kin to him so that you will be able to receive his funds for our mutual benefit. Please endeavor to observe utmost discretion in all matters concerning this issue,Should you be interested please send me your full names and current residential address and I will prefer you to reach me on the email address below.
E-mail: imnoscammer@hotmail.com or you can call me directly on Tel:0123456789 And finally after that I shall provide you with more details of this operation.Note that this business would follow all the international laws of banking and an attorney would handle all the legal Documentations to ensure that the funds are claimed legally so that we would enjoy our funds in peace when it is finally transferred from my country.
Your earliest response to this letter will be appreciated.
Kind Regards
Mr.Wolf

I replied to an email wanting a copy of my driving licence with this
Dear Reverend Owen,
I feel that as you are a man of the cloth, I must be honest and confess to having had my driver's licence confiscated after an accident involving my BMW 512 and a herd of cows. I was a little drunk at the time. Nothing more than a few ales, but you know how it is. I am currently not the most popular person in my village. I am sure you are very popular in yours. Especially as you are a Reverend an all that.
Would my not having a driving licence be a problem in sorting out my compensation. I need to know, I have a large dent in my car.
Thank you very much,
He still kept sending me emails

Phikz, spending time on here all day isn't necessarily efficient use of your valuable study time. I guarantee that you could get a job working 10-15 hours a week and still have enough time. Even if you sleep 10 hours a night, you probably spend about 5 hours or so in class. So you have an extra 9 hours after that. Minus eating, showering, etc, about 7 hours. I highly doubt you spend those 7 hours studying. maybe 3-4, which leaves an extra 4-3 to work per day. If you do spend those 7 hours studying, I tip my hat...but I also would believe you are lying
People that want money go and work for it!

I know what you mean by being in school all day, and seriously, maybe it was WAY less competitive back then, and depending on your program of study. But people in my program, pre-med, people had classes 40 hours a week, plus 10 hours of labs per week, sometimes we have midterm exams on weekends and evenings. So it is really impossible to have a steady job while in school.
I mostly live off of my student loan and my scholarship, and by mooching off my parents, lol.
But seriously, I was able to find a receptionist job that only required 10 hours a week, and some typing work that I can do at home, so it is flexible and I don't need to waste time on travelling.
In the summer, I work full time. So try to find a part time job during school year, or a very flexible job that you can do at home. ANd start applying SUPER EARLY, like in February for summer jobs.

tutor people
its studying and making money at the same time!
well, tutor your neighbour's kids or something
tell them that you attend an elite school =]
my school is classified as an elite school, cause its a selective school.

Ya, tutoring is a great idea. Post an ad in your school, or local high school or elementary school etc. I have a friend who started tutoring in grade 10 and now she has a waiting list of students that wants her to tutor them. BTW, she makes $20 an hour. Just think about, 4 hours, and you got yourself a pair of soops. That's how my mind works anyway.
