Im from birmingham.
Basically I had my pick of teams and i used to watch united in the champions league at night when i was young. I dont know but i just clocked that they were a good team and started to watch them and it just stuck. I remember drawing the team out like a football pitch with all there names on lmaoo or something similar and i remember once when batistuta banged in a few goals or something along them lines..
Also when you are a kid you would obviously pick the best team to support would you not? As soon as have a car and a decent job etc im putting my name down for a season ticket down there although it would take me a while :@ I can assure you of that

Born and bred in Leeds, therefore I support Leeds. No bandwagon jumping for me fella.
You didn't choose to follow Liverpool, Arsenal or anyone else because they weren't winning the trophies most years like Man Ure were.
Why not choose one of the many great and historic clubs that reside in Kevin Turvey land, clubs that need support far more than Shanghai-Beijing-Singapore-Cockney United?

Erm no. If you're a kid and you love football then you support your local side. This then enables you to go to games and actually support that team. But then you wouldn't be able to start threads on messageboards, shaking and buzzing, when 'your' team get to yet another final.

If only I had a quid for everytime I've heard or read that from a Man Ure fan. I'd be able to buy the scum from the Yanks and relocate them to Birmingham, just for you.

We all know Man U fans will defend to the death why they're not glory supporters!
Just like the list of excuses they roll out when they lose, Saturday for example

Mate have you not been reading anything I have wrote properly. How the fuck do you expect me to go to a local teams ground when i have nobody to take me anyway, yeahh Ill just roll into aston at the age of 7 to watch villa. I grew up to love football from my own preferences there is nobody what so ever in my immediate family who is a die hard football fan.
At the time man u were on television quite often and i remember watching a champions league game where we actually lost. Its not like when i was oblivious to football that i thought hmm lets go and research what teams win the most trophies at this time when i was just 7 or 8ish.
I am only 16 one of my objectives is to get through college, settle in a job etc etc and then attempt to get a season ticket. Its not like im some 30 year old saying that they are my plans when i have had all those years behind me to have made that happen already. I have been to 2 united matches both at Villa park as they were the only matches i could get tickets for, I do try but im not a fan of sitting in the villa stands for obvious reasons.
Just because I wasn't at the match and im not from manchester i cant experience the same feelings? Shutup mate.
I love football and i love Manchester United more than anything else in the world and just because i am not born in manchester don't attack me for my decisions. Climb out of the 'every man u fan is a glory hunter' bubble and try to put yourself in my shoes.

so you managed to get to villa park to watch the scum, why not just go watch villa?

Started loving Man Ure at 7 years old and your now 16 years of age, so thats 9 years of scum lurve. Its now 2008, so minus 9 years makes it 1999 when you started with your undying lurve for the scum. My memory isn't what it used to be, so please remind me......which year did Man Ure win the Champions League?
The rumble of the wheels on that bandwagon are getting louder.
Incidentally, my old fella hates football, as does all my immediate rugby loving family. But because I loved the game so much he took me to Elland Road for the first time at the age of 6. I started going on my own, with my mates at 10. Its not too hard to follow your local team if you really want to.
