'trainers' is kind of stupid. I mean, you don't actually train in them, do you? wear them down the gym or out for a jog or some light jazzercize? i made the mistake of running 5km in stan smiths once. ouch.
sneakers is at least slightly more accurate: they can be used for sneaking around in, with the rubber sole.
now what the fk is a 'jumPAH?'

I call my soops sneakers, but what i wear to the gym i call trainers. I dont train in my soops or stan smiths, or they would be called trainers too. I dont have a problem with calling them sneakers.
And anyway, i thought part of being English was absorbing everyones culture and making it your own...

Is it fuck, that's what's forced upon us by the (non) government.
Being English is having your identity rotted away so that you can't even call Christmas Christmas anymore or celebrate St George's day without being branded a racist.

To be fair and yes it shocks me to but pure does have a point
England, britain woteva does embrace other peoples cultures more than most country's and where a totally multicultural society. But in doing so we've lost alot of are own culture or had it banned or redtaped by the goverment wanting to be "politically dumb ooooops i mean correct"
It seems we embrace others cultures and beliefs but in fairness do people embrace ares in are own country??? I think not personally
p.s in protest i will refrain from wearing sneaks, pumps, trainers, kicks, soops or woteva today and wear soopakicksneak type things

aha! you try living right next door to the US.
Canadian culture? What's that? Mounties and maple syrup?
I used to live in the Pacific Northwest. No, not Juneau, Alaska. Vancouver, British Columbia.
Toronto is the 4th biggest city in North America and that isn't enough - it exists in most people's minds only in comparison to New York.
And I'm wearing bordeaux pro models today. They're swet.

Well up here in sunny Glasgow we have been known to refer to our leisure shoes as "sannies" which is short for sandshoes and also "gutties" which I think might come from an old name for rubber..??
Quality Scots words I'm sure y'all agree.
