woah....
And yes, there is something new about it because it is of a person who you have probably never heard in your life, the content is totally different to how it used to be. Grime music is a fairly new genre and i really can't imagine the bulk of the middle aged personnel on this forum listening to grime.
And theres no need to stereotype.. why is he a yardie? Just because he is black? Yardies are dread locked strong carribean folk in general. Also rapping is known as 'spitting' now, (only a small point) And you say in a london accent like he is putting the accent on.

Not sure why it's called Grime..possibly just a media thing..like all forms of music, there's always off shoots of the main style..eg..grime is an off shoot of uk garage..there are many styles of house(tribal, funky, hard, minimal, progressive, chicago, piano etcetc),just like when Britpop came about, with blur, oasis, pulp etc.to me that was just indie.it's just the music papers such as n.m.e,djmag,idj feeding us the names..It does my head in too, although it does help me when reading reviews of cd's if they mention ...let's say..that it's Tribal House as opposed to just House..now ya head is well and truly messed

'Grime is a sub-genre of urban music which first emerged in London in the early 2000s, primarily a development of UK garage, drum and bass ...'
'UK Grime is a genre of music which has been developing in London's underground since 2002. Grime's tempo is around 140 beats per minute. Style of flow also varies but its most common for rappers or MCs to "spit" double time or aggressively over the beat.
Grime can often be dark and aggressive, featuring MCs as opposed to singers and getting rid of the R&B influences of earlier the UK Garage music.'
GENERALLY SPEAKING.
