Ive heard of this theory before, on solecollector. I suppose theyre more like clones than fakes.

yeah, i suppose that is a better way of describing them..
i guess that COULD account for a lot of the kicks that look REALLY real, but have things like incorrectly packed laces.. as the factories in asia or whereever may not put the laces in the ones that adidas sell.. or something?!?

Now this is why I love this forum!
The thing is I've only seen one pair of fake 35ths in real life, and they were terrible, the rest all pics of course. If money was no object I'd be willing to risk buying some kicks from asia that "look" legit and investigate for my self. I wish we could start an adidas funded watchdog/research group and dabble with the grey market. If we all lived in the same area we could pool our resources and do it, I bet adidas would take notice.

I have recently emailed watchdog about it, and i have an associate that is helping me and a mate with some marketing.. he used to work with the big dogs of all the large sports brands..
he is gonna try and get me the managing direcotrs direct email address..
why contact the monkey.. when you can talk to the organ grinder!
i am going to tell them who we are, what we do, and that we can help adidas and ebay stamp this problem out (if they give us the rights to buy fakes, check they are fake, then shut the sellers down -and of course give us our money back)
yeah, ok so maybe the last bit is a bit far fetched.. but im gonna email him and try and get across to him that its a big problem, and the collectors of the world are PISSED off with it!
we WILL get through to someone one day!

I know this might be slightly off topic, but do any of you fellas buy black market dvd's, own fake watches, leather goods etc?
RE: Custard Creams... -
pokey27 - 25-01-08
Nope cant say i do zwer why m8??
RE: Custard Creams... -
Lorrie - 25-01-08
well, it's part of the whole problem. i don't imagine the fakers stop at kicks, do you? these aren't amateurs banging together a few bits of leather and rubber on mom's sewing machine. this is organized crime at its finest. i would imagine the same guys who are banging off fake 35ths are also doing n**e's, louis vuitton purses, levi's, etc etc.
while we're primarily concerned with adidas (rightly so) the problem doesn't exist without context. i suppose you could take the view that if we try hard enough we can make it unprofitable enough for them and they'll move onto easier targets, but, for instance, the one time i've been stung was with a fake soccer jersey and it's irritated me enough that i won't buy fake anythings.
hell, i'll hardly 'steal' music anymore.

I get ya point zwer!!if there's no market for it and no demand then they wouldnt fake it in the 1st place!!But cant say i do the fake thing across the board although i do copy music and films but thats for personal use!!not that that makes it ok but surely im allowed 1 weakness ooops okay 2 ooooops 3

i do download music and videos. but if i really like something i still buy it or go to the cinema..
i cant afford cable TV, so cant watch prison break.. i HAVE NO CHOICE but to resort to downloading it
hey, i bought a prison break T so im supporting their cause..
anyway, i totally agree with you tho dude in regards counterfeit products.. but i think things like superstars are more of a big deal due to the rarety of some of the kicks.. the fakes are not only crap, they are also devaluing the sneakers they are copies of! and when some of them are worth hundreds and hundreds of quids.. its a big deal! (in my eyes anyway)
I have noticed on eBay that you dont get many people from the USA selling fake kicks..
It tends to be the UK, and hong kong/china/asia..
I heard that the US brought out stricter import laws or something? And the lil chinese factories just dont bother shipping there any more..?
Fact? Fiction?
If its true then the UK can do something like that, or the whole EU can or something..
if its not true, then they should

word up. if no one's making any money off it, then they won't bother. and file sharing isn't really the same issue as buying pirated dvds - no one's profiting off it.
not many people from the states selling fake kicks probably because they don't see the market in it and/or the lack of manufacturing facilities means that the fakes would have to be imported anyway. much easier to import fake purses (bigger market, easier to ship) to sell on the corner than shoes in boxes you have to sell online. i mean, you do see some fake stuff, but it's usually bargain basement fakes, like basketball shoes that look like n**e's, but say Air on them instead. And no one's going to crack down on this because the product doesn't have the name or the swish and it's only the real destitute that wear them.
the US has tough laws regarding this kind of stuff, but if you've ever been to Canal Street in Manhattan, then you know fakes are easily found and readily available, but why trade a tough market when an easy one is staring you in the face?

There's plenty of fake 35ths on american ebay @ mo olstar !!but maybe thats just in my size i dunno???so im unsure whether thats true about them not bothering with the usa markets or not.To think we have all the info here @ ebay and adidas's disposal ready for them just gotta hope one day they come a calling

well, if 'impossible is nothing', then crushing the fakers is easy peasy. maybe we could get messi as a spokesperson.

I worked in a Bread factory for a bit when I was a kid and all the bread was the same just packed into different bags for different markets.
I also did some time in a Orange Juice factory and that was the same, if I told you some of the things they used to do to the juice you'd never touch a drop again!!!!
Lastly does anybody want to know what MacDonalds "thick" shakes are made out of????
As for the Soups I don't doubt that there are loads of iffy 3rd party deals being done and who gets shafted.... us the customer of course. Sky high prices and a huge fake market place are just a couple of things we have to put with while adidas seems happy to pick up the cash from both sides and turn a blind eye to all this shit
sorry to go off topic, but i for one am interested in knowing why orange juice and shakes are nasty.
