I'm hoping this isn't a daft question and that I'm not going to make myself sound a bit silly asking it......but how/why do ebay sellers and even 'bona fide' online retailers get away with advertising 100% genuine goods but selling rip-offs?

Because 99.9% of the time they never even see the kicks they sell, they dropship from china. so the average dude on the street sees these as a way in to the collection thing and thinks 24 quid for dasslers, FP's is a bargain.
It aint!!! they just see ppl paying ££££££'s for legits and think they are getting a deal!!
By the time the seller has sold 25-30 pairs, 1 person may complain, the majority wont coz they know no different!!! Same with other brands the net over!! Caveat Emptor.

Exactly. The fact im a Adidas fan was why I realised the colour of the 'r' was wrong.
Most people wont notice and he carries on selling. Still no reply from him!

But YOU did notice and you must pursue this dude! we all have a duty as SSDB members to stop the rot! paypal are owned by ebay and they are continuing to let ppl get ripped off.
if had got them I'd have got his contact info and rang him every 30 seconds til the prick gave me my cash back
Or signed him up for every spam site out there!

Anth, u read ma mind. I'd go one further though. If poss, go round to his house with a few 'boys' and get ur money back or if he ain't in, just muscle ur way into the living room and wait for him.or wait in the rented transit van outside.
If you don't have his address. report him to the cops and trading standards. and the local paper for the sellers area.after all, he's commiting a crime and the authorities (5-0 and trading standards can't be seen to let him get away wid it nor be complacent about it).jus a thought.
either way revels, i know it takes long and a pain in the ass but u have to do it. imagine how harrased the sellers gna feel!

Well having ignored my first email, I emailed him again today..
"You have 24hours to refund me before I report you to eBay, Trading Standards and the Police for selling fakes"
Hes replied and offered to refund me if I return them, Im not so keen on that idea having been stung previously and him doing the same to someone else so I told him to refund me first and then I will return them.
Hes said he will refund me later tonight, so I shall wait and see..

Hangings too good for 'im! Make him wear a pair of N*kes - for the rest of his life!!!
Seriously, I mentioned this on another thread about contacting all the people who have purchased fakes from him/her. The reply was that ebay hides the bidders identites but I think that's for only goods purchased for over a certain amount (£100?). Looking at madchester06's feedback there's quite a few people who haven't clue they've bought a fake pair of adi dasslers. Someone contact "chewyronaldo" and tell, him that Rockafella 35th's do not go for £29!!!
