Been hunting for some purple/lila laces. I walked for 45 minutes in my lunchbreak yesterday to our Local Britain Store. Bought the light purple ones and then discovered that I should have bought the Lila ones. Damned
. The same trip is awaiting me today

Damn, that "was" tells a whole story all by itself.
For sure I've been off the mat for a little while but I'm far from retired.
Just getting myself back into shape and building up my business so I can afford to hit the ring with some top class wrestlers and maybe even one in particular who I've wanted to go several rounds with for two years now.
Local Britain store ?
WTF is that ?

@ Robert, 45 minutes lunchbreak?! Damn it, that's a pretty long lunchbreak. I only have half an hour, think it's time for a career move

Love it.
You pretty much get an hour in the UK by law.

Yep an hour lunch break is most common around here too, probably by law too. I have no clue. Need to find a job to confirm this.

I don't GET a 45 minute lunchbreak. It took me 45 minutes to get to Britain and back again. I stopped at some other sneaker-stores for laces. Today I managed to do the same walk in less than 30 minutes. No other stops obviously. I got my lila laces, hope they match my supes better then the purple ones.
I think we get an hour in Holland too though. That is 15 minutes in the morning, 30 minutes lunchbreak and 15 minutes in the afternoon. But nobody knows that and sticks to his 30 minutes. Except for the smokers (like me) who use those extra 30 minutes for smoking. There are however those fuckin colleagues who decide to take a 45 minute luchbreak everyday because they don't think it's fair we smokers get more breaks then they do.

An Hour??? you're kidding I'm lucky if I grab 5 minutes in the car between places
(I think you'll find half and hour is the norm these days in the UK)

Same in Finland Robbie! I don't smoke or drink tee/coffee so usually spend 45-60 at lunch time. In my ten year carreer I've spent less than two hours in actual coffee breaks or sumthing. So I think this two week "sick leave" is well deserved

Yeah ok, I didn't count those 15 minutes breaks cause they're too short to call it a proper break.
About the smoking bit, I don't smoke, but everytime the smokers go outside to take a sigaret I join em and take a coffee break.

I can't believe lunch breaks are that regulated. I think by law here we get 30 minutes, but some days I don't really take a proper break and other days I take two hours and go to the gym and do a bit of shopping.
Do you all have to be at work at a specific time as well?

Now that i asked from a few friends in business of knowing more about the work hour related details.. lunch breaks actually aren't
that strictly regulated here but they do have certain limits they need to fit in anyway; 30-90 mins for a full day's work hours (7h 15mins) so the length of lunch breaks can vary a lot depending where you're working at.
So basically employers can define the length of lunch breaks as well as working hours. 37.5 hrs/week including ~1hr lunch break/day here is pretty much the average if you have a desk job. According to my experiences in the government and public work anyway.
I've always had jobs with flexible hours so i've been able to go to work later if i've felt like it or leave earlier. The pass card systems in many places here are a simple way to keep track on your hours.. the more you have + hours, the more you can slack if you want
or if you have - hours, you better get a hold of yourself so the boss won't be breathing on your neck too much.

In UK law you are entitled to a 20 minute break for every 6 hours you work as well as an hour for lunch.

We only get 20mins for lunch, no other breaks. Been told before by friends it ain't legal but I'm not gonna chuck the job in for a longer break.
