Lpve my techno pukka. I'm a UK boy mate. Been in and around the scene since 90. Surgeon, for me is the daddy of UK Techno. Still as raw now as the mid nineties. He just does not compromise. Have not heard that mix mate, can you point me in the right direction?

If you haven't already, look up dynamic tension on soundcloud.Surgeons pseudonym., some heavy, dark mixes to be found.
Youre right about Aus though Ptetty much fuckalll proper techno to be found here. Bucket loads o shite trance and tech house all over the place.
Going through bit of a renaissance with my mid 90s stuff. I'll endeavour to tecord something and let you know.

there ya go mate, there was a promoter called Melbourne techno collective, if i remember right. they did some ok nights in warehouse's but they mixed propa techno in with hard house?!?! and there was talc on the floor. all very bizarre lol
got a mate from up north out in melbourne at the moment, not sure if they are coming back or living there permanently now? maybe you could set up an ex-pat techno alliance, lol
surgeon is defiantly in my top 5.. Sims is my top uk techno Dj.. but thats partly cause im from the south and a lot of my mates have known him since they was at school. lol but mainly the energy he brings to a party, never heard him play a shit set ever.

Think they're still about Pukka. I dont get out too much these days, too old to stay awake without stimulus these days
. Being that i've been out here Ten years, i've not had the pleasure of seeing Sims play. I do like alot of his productions though, funky with out being cheesey. My problem with alot of modern techno is that it is borderline tech House. I havent bought anything form Beatport for about 6 months hence trailing through my old vinyl. 94-98 really was the heyday for me. The Swedes killing it, Beltram, Damon wild et al smashing it NY style, UR, Plus 8, as well as all that serious UK biznizz.
Happy Fucking Days.
For the record. The single greatest piece of Techno i have. Drexciya - Wave Jumper. My all time favourite of favourites.
