I've criminally not watched Infernal Affairs yet, despite having it on DVD for ages.
Just love how great the cast is in The Departed, even the smaller roles have folk like Alec Baldwin and Martin Sheen in them. And Mark Wahlberg was fantastic in it too.

Watch it!!
I got the Asian 8-disc box set of the Infernal Affairs trilogy years ago for a great bargain off a local auction site. It features alternative cuts of the first movie, one being the original somewhat uncut 5 hour!! version. The sequels aren't anything too special compared to the first one but still way better than most Hollywood sequels of similar movies usually are.

I've not seen it, although I was curious to see where Gerard Butler's character was supposed to come from, as his accent changed from Scottish to American about 7 times in the space of a 2 minute long trailer.

It's a decent film but I found the documentary about it's creation a lot more interesting. The guy who directed it won a competition for his script to be turned into a film and then, through his own egotism, pretty much destroys the project time after time. Despite alienating practically all of hollywood, he still manages to release the film to a percentile of the hype it would have got.
It's called "Overnight", director is called Troy Duffy. Real interesting examination of what happens when someone is thrown into the spotlight and given millions to create their dream.

I saw a trailer for the sequel to that a few months back. Billy Connolly is in it. Not a good sign as the majority of films he has been in are utter, utter shite.
Fantastic stand up though.

^ gladly lorrie the blokes an utter twat, the office was ok more cringe worthy than anything but extras was complete shite, just the office in a different environment and everyone kept harping on about how brilliant and original it was

my house mates were watching that the other night.. its gotta be a contender for worst film ever... cant beleive they have let Gervais be in other films after that, he should have spent the rest of his life in super mod's, sitting in a dark corner somewhere cold and isolated

I saw Ninja Assassin last week and I did enjoy it even if it didn't really bring anything to the ninja movie genre. The plot was way too simple, crap really but the fight scenes were ace.

Yeah. Didn't mind that at all. Made the wife see it in the theatre with me. Lied and told her there was a love story in the plot.
